Senior Front-end Engineer - React.js - Marketing - London - 60-70k

 

An innovative staff management platform is looking for a Senior Front-end Engineer to lead their front-end development, ensuring that web and mobile apps are elegant and effective in supporting users.

 

This company’s platform specialises in healthcare workforce management. As a Senior Front-end Engineer, you will provide technical leadership of front-end development. You’ll set standards in terms of adopting best practices. You’ll mentor and guide developers and ensure consistency and high standards. You will also be an example to your team, showing what great code looks like.

 

This opportunity offers great scope for leading the way and setting the cultural tone. You’ll be supportive yet challenging in terms of exposing your colleagues to learning and development opportunities; you’ll have a strong grasp of the product from the get-go; you’ll be able to work effectively with your team to deliver features of high complexity; you’ll be able to provide helpful code reviews to maintain the quality of the codebase; you’ll be a mentor but manage that alongside your day-to-day coding; and you’ll be able to elevate your team, raising standards across the board by leading conversations.

 

Key skills:

  • Experience of building and maintaining intuitive, accessible, performant, and secure JavaScript applications built on modern frameworks such as React

  • Able to ensure quality (through testing or other measures) of the product and code shipped, efficiently, effectively and with a high cadence

  • Experience of solving performance and optimisation problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems

  • Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organisational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions

  • Able to identify key issues that inhibit a team’s effectiveness and the ability to deliver product improvements at pace

  • Experience of providing guidance or mentorship to more junior engineers

  • Predisposition to thrive in a startup environment
